Q: Tell us about your role at RMHC-Denver. What does your day-to-day work involve and how does your role help support families and our mission?
A: In my role, I help families secure a room and a place to stay in our Houses. My day-to-day involves managing the waitlist, coordinating check-ins, updating stays and communicating closely with families, hospital staff and our in-house team to ensure families experience a smooth, supportive transition during an incredibly stressful time.
Q: How long have you been part of the RMHC-Denver team? What first brought you here?
A: I’ve been with RMHC-Denver for about ten years. I started as overnight staff, moved into a Family Services Associate role two years later and in 2021 I became the Referral Coordinator.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: I enjoy reading mostly fiction, doing anything creative, and spending time with my husband and kiddo. As you can see we love getting dressed up in costume. My son has a wonderful way of bringing out my silly side.
Q: What’s something you’d like others to know about you?
A: Behind my dry humor and matter-of-fact manner, I care deeply about our families and am very proud to be part of this Ronald McDonald House chapter. I truly hope the way I approach my work adds to our mission and creates a positive experience for families.
“Cassie works so hard to make sure no family falls through the cracks. Even during one of our busiest times, she went the extra mile to help a family referred with incorrect contact information. She tracked down the right number, reached the mom and made sure they had a place to stay. Her persistence and care made all the difference, and I’m so proud to have her on our team.” — Rachel, RHMC-Denver Director of Family Services
