Welcoming families to Ronald McDonald House of Denver with care and compassion.

Q: It’s great to talk with you Sandra. When did you start at Ronald McDonald House of Denver?
A: It was just my two-year anniversary. I started on August 4, 2023.

Q: Tell us about your role at Ronald McDonald House of Denver.
A: As a Family Service Associate my role may seem simple at first glance—check-ins, check-outs, ensuring safety—but it’s so much more than that. It’s about people, and making sure families feel heard, safe and supported during one of the toughest times in their lives.

Q: How long have you worked at Ronald McDonald House of Denver? Have you held other positions in the organization?
A: For the past two years, I’ve been part of the incredible team at Ronald McDonald House of Denver, but my journey in the world of guest services started three years ago at the Ronald McDonald House of the Intermountain Area in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Q: What do you like to do for fun or hobbies?
A: I love playing outside with my son whether it’s riding bikes, swimming, catching ladybugs or just enjoying the sunshine.

Q: What is something you’d like others to know about you?
A: I’m currently in the online Social Work program at the University of Utah. Spanish was my first language and I didn’t start speaking English until I was six years old.
