Meet Max Krafczyk, our Facilities Technician who works behind the scenes to ensure every guest space at RMHC-Denver is safe, functional and welcoming. From fixing everyday maintenance needs to helping plan future improvements, Max plays a vital role in making sure families can focus fully on what matters most.

Q: It’s great to talk with you, Max. Tell us about your role at RMHC-Denver. What does your day-to-day work involve and how does your role help support families?
A: Here at RMHC-Denver, my daily work involves a wide range of duties from unclogging sink drains and programming TVs to replacing toilets and helping plan some of the new additions to the Aurora House. With most of our families dealing with heavy stress during diagnosis and treatment for a loved one, I believe the last thing they should worry about is the functionality of their space while staying with us. It truly is the little things that can help more than we know.

Q: How long have you been part of the RMHC-Denver team? What first brought you here?
A: I’ve been part of the team for just under six months and could not be more grateful to be here. I have a personal connection to the mission. My family stayed at the Denver House when I was a newborn and required surgery. My grandmother teared up when she heard I joined this wonderful team. I hold RMHC-Denver in the highest esteem, and it’s an honor to give back to an organization that helped my family and so many others.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: I love being outdoors and exploring nature. I’m also a big movie buff who enjoys artistic projects, creative endeavors and a good book.

Q: What’s something you’d like others to know about you?
A: I’ve been sewing for many years! I’ve done everything from hemming pants and tailoring shirts to creating hand puppets.
