Meet Our Team: Vanessa

Vanessa and volunteers
Meet Vanessa, our Director of Volunteer Services. With more than 10 years of experience with Ronald McDonald House Charities, she brings deep knowledge and passion to her role, supporting families and staff while creating meaningful, rewarding experiences for the volunteers who make our mission possible.

Q: Tell us about your role at RMHC-Denver. What does your day-to-day work involve and how does your role help support families and our mission?
A: My job is to ensure our families and staff have the support they need and to foster positive volunteer experiences that support our mission. My day-to-day involves schedule coordination, service facilitation, and training, as well as community presentations, program development and evaluation, and best of all, recognition of our amazing volunteers!

Q: How long have you been part of the RMHC-Denver team? What first brought you here?
A: I’ve been with RMHC-Denver for just over 3 years after relocating to Colorado. My journey with RMHC started in 2014 managing volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: My husband, twin daughters and I love traveling, hiking, crafting, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and drinking as much boba as our stomachs will tolerate.

Q: What’s something you’d like others to know about you?
A: I love reading and writing fantasy fiction and am always happy to receive book recommendations!
