A HEART FOR MIKEY
When the Konrath family learned that their newborn son, Mikey, had serious heart issues, they knew a long hospital journey lay ahead. At just two weeks old, Mikey underwent his first surgery—but complications led to critical life support and the urgent need for a heart transplant. In the midst of their fear and uncertainty, the Konraths found strength and support through Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. The House became a place of comfort, allowing them to stay close to Mikey during every step of his medical journey. Today, Mikey has received his new heart—and he’s growing, thriving and loving life. Watch the Konrath family share their powerful story of resilience, gratitude and the important role RMHC-Denver played in their journey.
MIGHTY AMOS
Sarah and Jake were thrilled to learn they were expecting shortly after marrying, starting their journey with Amos. At 27 weeks, Sarah was admitted to the hospital, and Amos was born prematurely at 29 weeks, weighing only one pound, three ounces. He required surgery on his first day. Needing a place to stay close to the hospital, RMHC-Denver came highly recommended. With a baby in the NICU, staying within walking distance allowed them to spend as much time as possible with their sweet boy.
