Family Room Volunteer

Family Room Volunteer

Family Room Volunteers play a essential role in the smooth operation of the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, making it a comfortable retreat for families of hospitalized children. Their duties include welcoming families, helping them utilize the room's amenities, maintaining the cleanliness of the room and assisting families with laundry facilities and the computer station. Ideal volunteers are people-oriented, comfortable interacting with individuals of all ages in a relaxed setting and possess a natural gift for hospitality. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Family Ambassador

Our Family Ambassador volunteers at the front desk are vital to our daily operations. Often the first point of contact for our families and visitors, they ensure a welcoming environment. Their duties include managing guest needs, calls, donations and assisting with house tasks. This role is open to individuals or pairs aged 18 and up, while those 14-17 must volunteer with an adult. The commitment is a 3-hour shift weekly or bi-weekly for at least six months. Apply below.

Aurora house warmer

House Warmer

Our house is big, and we need extra eyes and helping hands to help care for it. House Warmer volunteers help to keep our house clean, safe and welcoming for guest families. House Warmers report to the Aurora House Manager and assist with spot window cleaning, vacuuming, and mopping, as well as dusting fixtures, sanitizing areas, emptying or starting dishwashers as needed and more. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, complete a background check and commit to a weekly 2-hour shift for at least 3 months. Volunteers ages 14-17 may volunteer with a parent or guardian. Self Care Services

We are seeking professional estheticians, hair stylists, nail technicians and massage therapists to volunteer and offer the gift of self-care to our families. Volunteering your skills can provide moments of tranquility, significantly reducing anxiety, enhancing moods and delivering much-needed relaxation to those we serve. This opportunity is ideal for individual professionals who are 21 years of age or older and possess portable equipment. Shifts are flexible and can be adapted to fit your schedule. Apply below.

Pet Therapy

We are delighted to invite therapy dogs and their handlers to join us in offering comfort and joy to our families. Volunteers will engage in dog therapy sessions with families providing therapeutic interactions that can alleviate stress, offer emotional support and enhance overall well-being. This opportunity is available weekly or bi-weekly at both our Denver and Aurora locations. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and registered with a National Therapy Dog Organization. Apply below.
