Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House

There are many ways to help!

Note: All volunteer activity within our Houses and Family Rooms has been paused while we do our part to keep families and staff safe and healthy.

This includes our Share-A-Meal program.  Meals prepared and catered by outside volunteer groups will be paused until further notice. Our staff will continue to make every effort to provide meals for our families.  Individuals and groups can help by making cash donations to help cover the cost of food or by mailing Costco, Safeway or King Soopers gift cards to RMHC-Denver.

Or, order safe individually packaged meals from a local restaurant to be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House.

Even though we cannot have volunteers making meals right now, send a special Friday night dinner from a nearby restaurant to feed families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. This is also a great way to support one of your favorite local spots!

Share A Meal

One great way to help the families at the Ronald McDonald House is by providing them with a home cooked meal when they don’t have the time, energy or money to prepare it themselves. You will never forget the appreciation on the faces of the families as they sit down to share a meal together. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner providers are needed. Groups of 5-10 are recommended for this opportunity, as you are asked to provide food for 25-75 people, depending on which House and meal you choose to serve. This opportunity is for volunteers ages 13 and older. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.  All of the details are in the Share A Meal Manual.

Either individuals or groups can help in this area and is great way to accomplish school credit hours! This opportunity is for volunteers ages 13 and older. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.

Call Bingo during dinner! We supply the bingo set and prizes! Ideal for individuals or groups of 2-5 volunteers. This opportunity is for volunteers ages 13 and older. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.

Baking/Casserole Club

Bring in your own food and ingredients to bake treats for the house or make freezer friendly casserole dishes in one of our kitchens! Ideal for individuals or groups of 2-5 volunteers. This opportunity is for volunteers ages 13 and older. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult.

Ronald McDonald Family Room Volunteers When families walk into our Ronald McDonald Family Room, we want them to forget they’re in a hospital. Just steps away from the pediatric or neonatal intensive care units, the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just moments away from their sick child. Volunteers are needed at Ronald McDonald Family Rooms  located in two area hospitals.  Choose the location most convenient to you:   Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (1719 E. 19th Ave., Denver) Sky Ridge Medical Center (10101 Ridge Gate Pkwy., Lone Tree)   Family Room volunteers aid in the smooth operation of the Ronald McDonald Family Room and help ease the stress of concerned parents. They help families take care of their needs without having to leave the hospital knowing they can be back by their child’s side in a matter of minutes. Duties include keeping the room cleaned and stocked with snacks, assisting families with laundry or other needs and otherwise acting as a host in the room. Many shifts are available to meet your schedule. We request a once-a-week, 4 hour commitment for a minimum of 6 months.  Shifts run daily beginning at 9am (9a-1p, 1p-5p and 5p-9p).  Because you’ll be working within a hospital, we require that you are vaccinated and receive an annual flu shot.
