Once a month, this tight-knit family fills our kitchen with warm meals, laughter and the kind of comfort families need during difficult times. Their commitment has become a true gift for our staff and the families we serve.

Jen’s journey with RMHC-Denver began early in her marketing career, but it became personally meaningful when her daughter received cancer treatment away from home. Today, she brings both professional insight and lived experience to her role on the Board of Directors, helping ensure our programs continue to respond to and reflect the needs of families during medical crisis.

For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House of Denver has been a beacon of hope and healing in Pattie’s life, a steadfast source of comfort, connection and care through some of her family’s most challenging moments. “My family has been blessed with medical challenges,” Pattie says with a gentle smile. “But the unyielding love and support from RMHC-Denver has lifted us every step of the way.”

Ashley is all about creating laughter and connection for families. From organizing fun activities, sharing surprises and helping make meaningful memories during tough times.

BOD Spotlight: Jim Boselli

For decades, Jim Boselli has supported Ronald McDonald House Charities through his work as a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, helping families stay close when they need it most. Now, as a member of the RMHC-Denver Board of Directors, Jim (second from the right) is bringing that same commitment and care to the organization’s leadership team.

Finding Hope for her Family

When Shana, a single mom living in Kansas, learned one of her twins had suffered a stroke in utero, she was advised to transfer to Children’s Hospital Colorado for specialized care. At just 34 weeks, both girls Haven and Hadley were delivered by c-section and baby Haven needed surgery the very next day.

Meet Doreen! She keeps things running smoothly at RMHC-Denver and loves paddle boarding, traveling and time with her three granddaughters. Fun fact: she’s seen George Strait 35 times!

Sandra is one of the friendly faces welcoming families to Ronald McDonald House of Denver. As a Family Service Associate (and unofficial sunshine ambassador), she helps families feel safe, supported and right at home.

Lon Welsh has been serving on the RMHC-Denver Board for four years, bringing both business expertise and a big heart for helping kids. As Founder of Ironton Capital, Lon knows the value of investing in strong communities—and he invests his time in the kitchen too, cooking meals for families alongside his wife, who also volunteers at the House.

Together Through It All

When Cecilia and Shayne Espinosa learned they were expecting a child, they never imagined the challenges that lay ahead. Living in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, the couple’s world turned upside down when Cecilia’s pregnancy became high-risk, threatening both her and their baby’s health. With Cecilia facing severe kidney issues requiring hours of daily dialysis, the advice the family received from doctors was shockingly candid. But Cecilia knowing in her heart that she wanted the best for her baby — was determined to carry the baby full-term.

When Aaliyah and Ricky found out they were expecting their second child, they had no idea how quickly their world would change. At a routine ultrasound, doctors discovered their baby had a rare congenital heart defect where the heart doesn’t develop properly, causing blood flow issues. Suddenly, they were facing a high-risk pregnancy and an uncertain road ahead.
